Surakarta, July 30, 2025 — The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FTTE) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) successfully held the Pre-departure Semester@NIE 2025 event on Wednesday evening, July 30, 2025. The virtual event was conducted via Zoom starting at 7:00 PM, aiming to prepare selected students for their academic journey at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore.
The event was officially opened by Dr. Muhammad Hizbul Wathon, S.Pd.Si., M.Sc., representing the International Office (IO) of FTTE UNS. In his remarks, he highlighted the importance of global academic exposure and encouraged the students to actively engage and represent UNS with pride.
Following the opening, the Head of the FTTE International Office, Dr. Farida Nurhasanah, S.Pd., M.Pd., warmly welcomed the participants and expressed her support for their upcoming international experience. She also emphasized the significance of international collaboration in enhancing educational quality and fostering global citizenship among students.
A motivational message was then delivered by Prof. Dr. Leo Agung Sutimin, M.Pd., who shared valuable insights and words of encouragement. He urged the students to embrace the opportunity with enthusiasm, maintain academic integrity, and uphold the values of Indonesian education.
This year, four outstanding students have been selected to join the Semester@NIE 2025 program:

- Diah Putri Sulistia Ningtias – English Language Education
- Anna Nuriana Sabila – Biology Education
- Arifia Fitrianni Ma’ruf – Science Education
The Semester@NIE program is a prestigious international academic exchange initiative that allows students to gain valuable cross-cultural and educational experiences abroad. FTTE UNS continues to support and empower its students to become globally competent educators and lifelong learners.
