On 29 October 2025, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) officially dispatched two of its Biology Education students to Japan to participate in the Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange Pilot Program at Aichi University. The outbound participants are:
- Alifa Istu Mustafa — Biology Education
- Halida Zia Berliana — Biology Education
The exchange is carried out under a “Sharing Budget” scheme and will see the students join short-term exchange activities and teaching-practicum related events organized by Aichi University and its international office.
Aichi’s exchange offerings typically combine Japanese language and cultural courses with opportunities to attend selected undergraduate modules available to exchange students. Participants can expect orientation and support from the host university’s International Exchange/Office, and will take part in academic and cultural activities designed for incoming exchange students. FKIP UNS provided pre-departure briefings and an official send-off to prepare the students for their one-month stay.
The pilot exchange aims to give pre-service teachers hands-on international exposure, strengthen pedagogical skills, and foster cross-cultural competencies that will benefit their future teaching careers. This activity also supports FKIP UNS’s broader collaboration and mobility ties with partner universities in Japan.
